CITY OF EMBER?
(no subject)
2: Damian Lewis? Yeah he's brilliant. He was in one of the Shakespeare ReTold's, the Much Ado About Nothing one, and he played Benedick, he was an absolute ass, and hilarious, and it always takes me a while to remember he and Charlie (his character from Life) are the same 'cause he's very convincing as both. Life is a cop show, where Crews was in prison for 12 years because he was framed, and he gets out and solves the weekly crime with his AWESOME partner Reese, and is also working on solving the greater mystery of why he was framed. It might sound rather formulaic, btu ti isn't, the writing is usually excellent, the photography is unusually good for an American show, and the one thing that really sticks out among cop shows is the relationship between Crews and Reese. Even though they're partners, of oppisotte gender, and earlier on he got on her nerves, there's none of the UST associated with that usual set up. They don't do the whole hand on the back intimacy thing that many tv UST couples do, in fact he touches her once, and her response is: "Are you touching me?" And he drops her arm like a hot potato, which is why their brushing of hands was so important. Half the audience doesn't even see any romantic thing to their relationship (though this past episode kind of finished that, although still it was just made clear that they loved each other, what sort of love that was unclear), and just CAN I PLEASE SHOW SOME TO YOU WHEN YOU COME IN CITY PLEASE!!!!!!!
3: City of Ember is done.
