me - the personal journal


I am a student, who is majoring in philosophy. I live in Manhattan and am obsessed with many things. I devote most of my personal time to fandom, because I can. Please comment at my friends post if you want to be added and see my many fandom addled posts. I occasionally post real reviews of things and these will be public so if you just want organised cohesive thoughts you don't have to be friended by me, but there are many rants, which I keep locked, to hide the pointlessness from the masses. Below are fandom details.

fannishness

Doctor Who
Old Who, New Who, and I basically ship everyone/everyone. Though my OTP probably is The Doctor/Romana in any incarnations. And I may be in love with Romana personally. I write fic, I make icons, I rant, and I review for this show, and its spin-offs.

Merlin
This show is eating my brain. Literally, eating it. I will have nothing left soon. I am deeply in lust with Katie McGrath, and deeply in love with Morgana. I have watched all of the behind the scenes stuff and video diaries (I am okay with any ship in this fandom, so far I've written for Uther/Morgana, Morgana/Gwen (with implied Merlin/Arthur), Gwen/Lancelot, and Morgana/Arthur. I am convinced the four main characters will eventually sleep together in every combination. My OTP for it probably has to be Uther/Morgana, just because they are so awesome. (See obviously it is eating my brain as it is getting the longest section!) I write fic (I have never written this much fic in so short an amount of time), I make icons, and for the past month all of my posts appear to have been related to it in someway, so definitely yes on the ranting.

Life
I love this show like mad. I think it is one of the best things on US television, and certainly the best thing on network. The first season was my favorite, I think it lost some of its pace in the second, but still awesome. I ship Crews/Reese, but I don't really want them to get together on the show because they are the best partners ever. I write more fic than make icons for this fandom, and I don't really rant, but I love it. (don't leave sarah, please don't.)

Other Tele
The Whedonverse, Farscape, Battlestar Galactica, I mainly just icon for these fandoms (and read their fic), but I love the shows like mad. Especially Farscape and Firefly which may jointly own my soul. I love The Middleman and have written fic for it, which I can only hope does some justice to the amazingly silly and awesome characters of Wendy Watson and The Middleman. I also may have a small obsession with Canadian television and films, especially if they have Callum Keith Rennie. I blame this all on a marathon of Slings & Arrows I first saw three years ago now on Sundance, I am not culpable.

Literature
I'm an Austenite. Again mainly just iconing, with the occasional rant over non-cannon adaptations. And I am a Shakespeare fanatic (no really I travelled to London twice just for productions (in my defense one was over christmas break, and it was made a vacation, and the second was eight plays... in four days, and also Brooklyn, which was more painful -joking-)). I largely only rant about these things. But I love them, so I thought them important to note.

I also love anything related to Hugh Laurie or Stephen Fry. Especially Stephen Fry who I am convinced that if he believed in god, he would be the physical embodiment of Him... which isn't confusing at all. And, if you couldn't tell, I am a complete anglophile.

Writing

I post my fanfiction on this journal as well. It is focused in Doctor Who (focused on Romana), Merlin (usually Uther/Morgana, but occasionally Morgana/Other people), and Life (Crews/Reese, partner-y & shipp-y) but there are other fandoms I dabble in. Largely I write short pieces of angst. Reviews and critiques are welcomed, I love constructive criticism. If you have any interest in redistributing my work I would most likely be delighted, but please ask first. Realise that though these are not technically published, it is my work. Do not plagiarise my work, and do not redistribute my work without telling me. Thank you.

I make icons, wallpapers, banners, and fanmixes mainly for fandoms. The most prominent one is Doctor Who, all eras from 1963 onwards.
